FRAME-TO-FINISH CARPENTER (Seattle or Portland)

Hammer & Hand seeks an experienced frame-to-finish carpenter to join our Seattle, WA or Portland, OR team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years of construction carpentry experience including framing, envelope, and trim install.
  • Experience with remodel and new build projects.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings or other structures.
  • Must be able to keep accurate records and perform timekeeping, including electronic submittals.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
  • Must have a full selection of tools to perform the work.
  • High level of accuracy and pride in your craft
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Proof of Vaccination (or documented medical exemption)

SHOP CAD DRAFTSPERSON & PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR (Portland)

Hammer & Hand seeks a full-time Shop CAD Draftsperson & Procurement Coordinator to join our Portland Woodshop team! This position would be responsible for:

  • Creating new drawings based on client provided designs
  • Augmenting existing shop drawings as needed to match client design intent
  • Working with Shop Manager on procurement of glass, hardware, lumber, etc.
  • Working with owner and shop coordinator on sales intake, initial pricing, and client interaction

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient in CAD drawing
  • Well organized and self-directed
  • Knowledge of different wood species, machining methods, and the tools involved in fabrication
  • Strong work ethic, teamwork, self-motivation, problem solving
  • High level of accuracy and pride in your craft
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination (or documented medical exemption)

Bonus Points:

  • Forklift experience

LEAD CARPENTER / PROJECT MANAGER (Portland)

Hammer & Hand seeks a tools-on Project Manager with experience in commercial TIs to join our  Portland  team!  Our Site Leads manage the on-site project logistics, our carpentry crews, and subcontractors as part of a team, including an off-site Project Supervisor and Project Administrator.  They also perform skilled carpentry as the workflow allows.  90%  of our work is residential, and the commercial work is typically craft-driven specialty retail and restaurant interiors requiring high levels of organization, communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Approximately 10 years of construction and carpentry experience
  • Approximately 5 years in an on-site project management role
  • Experience managing high-end commercial TI projects
  • Experience with high-end residential remodels and new build projects
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record
  • Must have full selection of tools to perform the work
  • High level of accuracy and pride in your craft
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Well developed computer skills, including cloud based project management tools.
  • Proof of Vaccination (or documented medical exemption)

Hammer & Hand seeks a driven frame-to-finish precision lead carpenter to join its Seattle team.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of construction and carpentry experience.
  • 2-5 years in an on-site project management role.
  • Experience with high-end remodel and new build projects.
  • Management of multiple trades such as plumbing, electric, HVAC, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
  • Must have full selection of tools to perform the work
  • High level of accuracy and pride in your craft
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to multitask
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Well organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
