SW Hills Spanish Revival
Designed by Adapt Design
We partnered with Hannah Hacker at Adapt Design to remodel this gorgeous Spanish Revival in Portland’s SW Hills. The clients were seeking a more functional home and wanted to undo elements of an early 80s remodel that detracted from the beauty of the original. Updating the house while also matching the look and feel of the existing home presented an interesting challenge. Together with Adapt Design, our team created several new archways and tasteful finishes that were closer to the period design, while original leaded glass doors were re-purposed for a wardrobe and dining room cabinet.
In updating the functionality of the home, we took out a large closet and turned it into an expansive primary bath, removed a wall to open the dining room to the rest of the house, and added in a glass double door that opens from the common areas directly out to the lush backyard. Lead Carpenter Carrie Healy’s team (Moses Grubb, David Easterday, and Matt Nightengale) did a superb job bringing Hannah Hacker’s elegant and thoughtful design to life.
