Salt & Straw Scoop Shop II

Designed by John Cooley and Sarah Littlefield

Our commercial remodel of the second location for Salt & Straw, located in NW Portland, was in many ways a reprise of the original Alberta location; same collaborators, old-time aesthetic, and engagement of Hammer & Hand carpenters in both the field and the woodshop. While the Alberta location was a build-out within a cleared-out shell, the NW location began as a palimpsest of former uses from former lives. Designed by architect John Cooley and interior designer Sarah Littlefield of Seattle Junk Love, the remodel transformed the NW location to reflect the signature aesthetic of Salt & Straw – local, handcrafted, sustainable.
