The Seattle remodel features high performance home addition.

Work started today on Hammer & Hand’s latest Seattle green remodel project, a green second story addition in Ballard’s Sunset Hill neighborhood.  The 1200 SF home addition will add a master bedroom suite and tatami room to the mid-century home of a family of four.

The clients, a pair of creatives who work from home, embarked on the project because they needed more space for their growing family and business but wanted to stay in their Sunset Hill community.

The green remodel will be built with sustainable finishes and high performance features to reduce the addition’s carbon footprint, including high quality windows and a near-Passivhaus-level wall system.

We’ll have more news to come on this Seattle remodel, so please stay tuned.
