Duplex Remodel

Hammer & Hand transformed this dilapidated 1901 property into an income-generating duplex for the owners. H&H remodeled the lower unit to be ADA compatible and included energy efficient features throughout both units. A new access tower of stacked hallway/walkway on the side provides easy unit access while making the front facade more attractive. Eco-friendly materials were used throughout project, including salvaged bleachers from Lewis & Clark, salvaged fir, and salvaged structural lumber. High efficiency insulation and windows, hydronically radiant floor heat, and on-demand water heaters keep utility costs low for renters.
