about us

Hammer & Hand is its employees. That’s why, as we’re celebrating our 30th anniversary, we’re becoming an employee-owned company.

We’re a company of carpenters. We take pride in performing durable, precise craftsmanship with building science expertise.

We empower our builders with 100% paid healthcare, great wages, a wealth of benefits, and a welcoming work environment that’s invested in their success.

Our employees are excited to work with us and excited to work with you. They’ll bring their years in the field and project management experience to make your project the smoothest possible process.

Our craftsmen control the project.

You and your architect have a vision, and we aim to follow it to the letter.

That’s why it’s so valuable that our direct employees manage the process of all our builds. We also do most of the work: framing the project, installing the windows, and doing the trim. We often do siding and concrete, as well as build the cabinets and the windows.

As for our subcontractors, we choose ones we’ve built trusted relationships with over the past three decades.

Architect - Builder - Client

Hammer & Hand is a traditional builder, in the sense that we work with external architects/designers rather than in-house.

We believe that successful project development is a collaborative process between architect, builder, and client. Together, we find the best solutions: ones that satisfy budget, aesthetics, and buildability, all at once. While many clients come to us with an architect already selected, many do not. In the last 30 years, we’ve built relationships with many diverse and talented architects in the Pacific Northwest. We can connect you with one whose aesthetic, personality, schedule, and budget are the right fit for your project.
