Located in the coveted Portland’s Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood, this 1937 Historic Tudor was in need of both restoration and modernization. For our clients, a young family, we opened up the main floor spaces, updated the kitchen with a more usable layout, and refreshed outdated finishes. While bringing the house up to modern standards was the goal, there was a collective desire to maintain the character of original architectural details such as leaded-glass windows and mahogany casework. With a new design palette featuring sage green full-inset shaker cabinetry, ceramic Swiss cross tile, and era appropriate hardware and fixtures, the space fits the original aesthetic of the home, while providing the family a new place to make memories for decades to come.
