Andy Giegerich writes about his Clean Energy Works Oregon experience with Hammer & Hand.

“Given our drafty 61-year-old-house, any kind of energy strategy seemed like a good idea,” writes the Portland Business Journal’s Andy Giegerich of his thinking as he applied to be part of Clean Energy Works Oregon.

In his piece for Sustainable Business Oregon, entitled “Clean Energy Works heats up old house,” Giegerich describes Hammer & Hand’s home energy audit and retrofit of his house, including insulation and new furnace.

“The contractors finished their work in five days.  We immediately felt the results,” writes Giegerich.  “Our basement no longer has the feeling of a cold cellar.  The insulation in particular has spiked the temperature by a solid 10 degrees.  And that’s even before we crank up the new furnace.”
