Clean Energy Works Oregon (CEWO) recognizes Portland home builder and remodeler Hammer & Hand as top contractor in delivering customer satisfaction through CEWO home energy audits and remodels.

Portland, OR – Last week Clean Energy Works Oregon (CEWO) announced Hammer & Hand's home performance team logoPortland builder and remodeler Hammer & Hand as the recipient of its Customer Satisfaction award, recognizing the firm as the top CEWO contractor in delivering excellent customer service in home energy audits and remodels.

“We’re happy to recognize Hammer and Hand’s excellence in this area,” said Will Villota CEWO Director of Marketing.  “Customer satisfaction is the #1 priority for CEWO. We vigorously vet contractors not only for their skills in home performance but also their customer service skills.”

CEWO is a non-profit program established to reduce energy waste by encouraging homeowners to take direct action. By the end of 2013, Clean Energy Works Oregon aims to:

  • create or retain 1,300 jobs;
  •
complete 6,000 home energy retrofits;
  • retrofit 3.5 million square feet of commercial buildings;
  • save more than 300,000 MBTUs of energy; and
  • reduce carbon dioxide by 200,000 metric tons.

Forty-six contractors, including Hammer & Hand, have partnered with CEWO to help reach these goals. The recent Customer Satisfaction award singles out Hammer & Hand and its customer service delivery.

“I got into this business to help people make their homes more efficient, comfortable and safe,” said Greg Lasher, a building analyst with Hammer & Hand. “This award is a great indication that we’re doing just that.”

Clean Energy Works Oregon also recognized the quality and impact of Hammer & Hand’s home performance video series, featuring real-world efficiency upgrade stories from Portland homeowners.

Home Performance Video #1 – When Kristin and Rich purchased an 1895 Victorian home with their first baby well on its way, they knew they needed to make their home comfortable for their young family.

Home Performance Video #2 – For Julia, the financing available through the CEWO program enabled her to make her cold and drafty 1940s home quiet and comfortable.

Home Performance Video #3Felisa loved her old Portland home, but not its performance. Her home energy audit and retrofit changed that.

“I’m really thrilled with this award,” Hammer & Hand co-owner Daniel Thomas recently told the company’s Home Performance Team.  “It’s our most important job, to make happy clients.  Fantastic work!”
