The Daily Journal of Commerce just a ran a nice piece about a homegrown effort by two brothers to build a Living Building Challenge home.
The Living Building Challenge standard requires, among other things, that buildings generate all of their own energy from renewable sources and capture and treat all storm and waste water. It's not an easy standard to meet - while 70 projects are currently seeking certification, none has yet achieved it.As the DJC article, describes, Dustin and Garrett Moon are well on their way to meeting the energy and water requirements of the standard, with lots of guidance and lessons learned from Passive House. Kudos!
